‘Classic Popular Songs’ EP Out Now!

ABC Kids presents ‘Celtic Music for Children - Classic Popular Songs’ by Mick McHugh. 

The highly-anticipated five track recording of classic popular singalongs re-imagined with a Celtic twist!

The EP is a collection of five fun-lovin’ classic Popular Songs 'Country Roads’, ‘Sweet Caroline’, ‘Hey Baby’, ‘Wake Me Up (Avicii)’ and ‘Walking On Sunshine’, blended with Traditional Celtic instruments Banjo, Accordion, Uilleann Pipes, Flute and Fiddle for a toe-tapping, sing-a-long experience for all the family to enjoy. 

All songs have been re-interpreted by the Irish/Australian Troubadour Mick McHugh, founding member of the hugely successful band The Gathering, mixed by Stuart Stuart (credits include The Veronica’s and Sheppard) and produced by ARIA award winning Damien Leith.

‘Celtic Music for Children - Classic Popular Songs’ is the third instalment in the Celtic Kids series from ABC Kids / Mick McHugh, following on from 2022 release ‘Celtic Music for Children - Traditional Irish and Scottish Folk Songs’ which has amassed 4 million streams on Spotify, featuring the hit song ‘The Rattlin Bog’, and ‘Celtic Music for Children - Nursery Rhymes’, released March 2025.

‘Celtic Music for Children - Classic Popular Songs’ will be available across all digital platforms on Friday 13th March 2026 ahead of St. Patrick’s Day - a Celtic re-imagining of popular songs for the young, and young at heart alike to dance and sing along together!
